Attendance

APsA reserves the right to limit attendance at any session for safety, professional confidentiality or organizational reasons.

Confidentiality Statement

Ensuring the confidentiality of all clinical material presented at our meetings is of the utmost importance to APsA. Attendance is contingent on an agreement to adhere to the following guidelines:

• Clinical material must not be discussed outside of the session in which it is presented and furthermore must not be recorded, conveyed, or disseminated in written or electronic form.
• Participants must agree to maintain a secure environment to be utilized solely by the registered participant and protected from intrusion by, or exposure to, unauthorized persons.
• Presenters of case material must have either obtained informed consent from the patient (or guardian) or taken other carefully considered measures to safeguard confidentiality. If at any time a participant suspects he, she, or they may recognize the identity of a patient in a case presentation, the participant must leave the session immediately.

• All participants are urged to be especially vigilant about protecting confidentiality during discussion periods and informal exchanges.

• Failure to observe these guidelines constitutes a breach of APsA’s ethical principles and may be cause for disciplinary or legal action or both.

Liability Statement

By registering for and attending APsA’s events, I agree and acknowledge that I am undertaking participation in APsA’s events and activities as my own free and intentional act, and I am fully aware that possible physical injury might occur to me as a result of my participation in these events. I give this acknowledgement freely and knowingly and that I am, as a result, able to participate in APsA’s meeting, and I do hereby assume responsibility for my own well-being and safety.

Acceptance

By registering for and attending APsA’s events, I hereby agree that I accept the terms stated above and indemnify and hold harmless APsA, its affiliates and their respective directors, employees and agents (including, without limitation, any agent acting on its behalf) from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) resulting from attendance at APsA’s events.

Code of Conduct

It is the policy of the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsA) that all participants, including attendees, exhibitors, APsA staff, volunteers, invited guests and all other participants at APsA meetings both in-person or online will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or disruption. APsA is committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all meeting attendees regardless of age, religion, race, color, gender, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other individual characteristics.

Any participant experiencing an unwanted situation should immediately report the incident to an APsA staff member who will contact the Scientific Program and Meetings Director and APsA’s Executive Director.

Consequences of unacceptable behavior may range from a verbal warning, ejection from the meeting (without a refund), being banned from future APsA events or notifying appropriate authorities.

Photography

APsA, its contractors and attending news media may be photographing or videotaping scientific sessions and events at the conference. By attending this meeting, attendees acknowledge these activities and agree to allow their image to be used by APsA in association publications, on the APsA website, and in marketing and promotional materials. Attendees at this meeting waive all claims against APsA for any liability resulting from these uses.

Video and Digital Recording

No individual or entity may electronically record any portion of this meeting without prior written consent.

Pets (In-Person Meetings)

Please note dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not allowed in meeting rooms and the exhibit area during the meeting.

Speaker Policy

APsA members presenting on the scientific program are required to pay a registration fee. Non APsA members presenting on the scientific program will receive complimentary admission to the session at which they are presenting. If they wish to attend other sessions on the program, they are required to pay the appropriate registration fee.
