How to Receive CME/CE Credit
Up to 36.5 CME/CE credits will be offered for this meeting.
APsA is happy to offer continuing education (CME/CE) credits to physicians, psychologists, social workers, counselors, physician associates (PAs), nurses, and pharmacists/pharmacy technicians for attending the 2027 National Meeting.
Directly following the event, you will receive an email with your username and password and a link to the Evaluation’s Portal. Once you have logged in and completed the online evaluations and the overall evaluation, you will be able to print or email your CME/CE Certificate.
The deadline for completing the CME/CE Evaluation is Friday, March 5, 2027.

Statement of Objectives
The scientific sessions of the American Psychoanalytic Association’s meetings are intended to bridge the practice gaps in the professional knowledge of attendees by exploring new and recent developments in research, theory, technique, clinical knowledge and by offering opportunities to review essential psychoanalytic knowledge.
After attending the APsA 2027 National Meeting, attendees will be able to:
- Identify new developments affecting the science, policy, and clinical practice of psychoanalysis.
- Compare presented clinical guidelines/best practices with the participant’s current practice and identify strengths or gaps.
- Analyze new research to develop practical applications and improvements for clinical practice or further research.
Continuing Education Credit Types
Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) Joint Accreditation In support of improving patient care, the American Psychoanalytic Association is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Physicians The American Psychoanalytic Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Psychoanalytic Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 36.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
ABPN Physicians Through the American Board of Medical Specialties (“ABMS”) ongoing commitment to increase access to practice relevant Continuing Certification Activities through the ABMS Continuing Certification Directory, the 2027 National Meeting has met the requirements as a Lifelong Learning CME Activity (apply toward general CME requirement) for the following ABMS Member Boards: Psychiatry and Neurology
Psychologists Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
Social Workers As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the American Psychoanalytic Association is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, re approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 36 cultural competence continuing education credits.
Counselors American Psychoanalytic Association has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7556. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. American Psychoanalytic Association is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
Physician Assistants / Associates The American Psychoanalytic Association has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 36.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
Nurses The American Psychoanalytic Association designates this live activity for 36.5 ANCC contact hours.
Pharmacists/Pharmacy Technicians The American Psychoanalytic Association designates this live activity for 36.5 contact hours.
New York State Psychologists (NYSED) The American Psychoanalytic Association, Inc. is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychologists #PSY-0153.
New York State Social Workers (NYSED) American Psychoanalytic Association, Inc. is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0186.
New York State Licensed Psychoanalysts (NYSED) American Psychoanalytic Association, Inc. is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed psychoanalysts. #P-0013.
Other Profession Types Other profession types will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the activity and online evaluation confirming their participation. Participants may claim credit for recertification; however, their professional organization/institute hold the final say on which accredited activities they accept.
