The DPE Child Analysis Section promotes the vitality of child and adolescent psychoanalysis within and beyond APsA. We support institutes and centers in child/adolescent related clinical, didactic and research pursuits. We also foster connections between child program directors and educators to encourage sharing information and ideas. Our groups consist of expert, analytically oriented clinicians and researchers on relevant topics in childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. Current groups include Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Diversities, Emerging Adulthood, Ethics, Infancy, Integrated Training, Teaching Psychotherapy and Research.
- Chair: Jim Bennett MD,
We sponsor the Child Congress, an annual day-long program addressing issues of interest from a developmental perspective. Another initiative is the Child Analytic Traveling Scholar (CATS) that annually invites an esteemed child/adolescent psychoanalyst to present at APsA institutes throughout the country.
