Lena Ehrlich, PsyD has made considerable contributions to our understanding of developing an analytic identity and in the psychoanalyst’s experience of the work we do with patients beyond the narrow concept of countertransference. She has identified our hopes, enthusiasm and reluctances to extend ourselves to patients. Dr. Ehrlich will now help us think about what was lost and gained before, during, and after the COVID pandemic and the increasing use of telephone and video in our work.
