Congratulations to the 2025 Edith Sabshin Teaching Award Recipients
New York, NY — January 13, 2026 — The American Psychoanalytic Association (APsA) is proud to announce the recipients of the Edith Sabshin Teaching Award, which recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions as educators of students who are not candidates in formal psychoanalytic training programs.
Established in 1999, the award honors the legacy of Edith Sabshin, a former Secretary of the American Psychoanalytic Association, whose leadership and dedication to education had a lasting influence on the field. The award is presented by the Chair of the Edith Sabshin Teaching Award Committee and is a program of APsA’s Department of Academic and Professional Affairs.
Sponsored by the Department of Academic and Professional Affairs, the Edith Sabshin Teaching Award is given annually to up to ten individuals. Both APsA members and non-members are eligible for recognition, with recipients nominated by their local psychoanalytic societies and institutes for exceptional service in non-candidate education.
