APsA Earns IPCE Joint Accreditation

New York, NY — September 3, 2026 — The American Psychoanalytic Association (APsA) announces that it has successfully achieved Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) Joint Accreditation, a nationally recognized distinction awarded jointly by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

This achievement supports APsA’s mission to establish and maintain high professional standards for analytic practitioners. Through joint accreditation, APsA is now authorized to award continuing education credit across six healthcare professions through a single, integrated accreditation process, further strengthening and streamlining interprofessional psychoanalytic education.

Joint accreditation demonstrates excellence in designing continuing education that promotes collaboration among healthcare professionals and improves the quality of patient care. Through APsA’s Joint Provider CME/CE Program (previously the APsA Provider CME Program), participating organizations can now offer six nationally recognized continuing education credit types:

Physician Credit (ACCME)

Physician Associate Credit (AAPA)

Nursing Credit (ANCC)

Psychology Credit (APA)

Social Work Credit (ASWB)

Pharmacy Credit (ACPE)

For APsA’s affiliated institutes and societies, this means educational activities can now provide continuing education credit for multiple healthcare professions through one Joint Provider CME/CE application, making it easier to develop high-quality educational programs that serve today’s collaborative mental healthcare workforce.

Since 1972, APsA has been a trusted provider of continuing education for physicians and mental health professionals. By earning Joint Accreditation, the Association is expanding its ability to support lifelong learning and collaborative practice across mental healthcare disciplines.
