Theodore Jacobs, MD, will discuss his paper, which focuses on the important role that secrets kept by both patients and analysts play in psychoanalytic treatment. Such secrets are often played out in treatment without them having been recognized and confronted by either party. Unrecognized and uninterpreted they can have a significant effect on the analytic process and the course and outcome of treatment.
