Dr. Nina Rose, Ph.D.

Degree:
Ph.D.
Role:
Psychologist - PhD
Introduction:
I earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a Health Emphasis at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology (conferral August 30) and completed my clinical internship at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center. This fall, I will join the Austen Riggs Center as a postdoctoral fellow. My clinical approach is trauma-informed and psychodynamic, based on the premise that meaningful change emerges through authentic engagement and careful attunement to the therapeutic relationship. I draw on insights from the arts, psychoanalysis, and philosophy to deepen the work, while attending closely to cultural context and formative experiences of power and institutions—especially within families and medical systems—that scaffold our sense of agency, relational safety, and self-concept. During doctoral training, I developed a niche in working with artists and creative professionals that I hope to expand in practice.
