This event addresses: Dissociative Identity Disorder
This presentation, given by Ira Brenner, M.D., will focus upon the very controversial, very misunderstood, and very difficult to treat condition, currently known as D.I.D., Dissociative Identity Disorder. By reconceptualizing it as a “lower level dissociative character” in which dissociation is the central underlying defense, it may become possible to work psychodynamically with such patients. Within this paradigm, 5 stages of treatment can be considered as guidelines.
