Description: The mission of this group is to focus on the ethical concerns particular to our work with children, adolescents and/or their parents. We consider major philosophical and psychological issues affecting our responses to these ethical dilemmas. These include understanding relational and other approaches to ethics, superego development, systems issues as well as our transference and countertransference reactions. We also discuss examples of ethical dilemmas with patients, parents, colleagues, and supervisors. We will present at the ethics program for the DPE Child Congress in February 2020. We plan to continue with additional presentations and publications of our work.
