Description: The mission of this group is to recognize the importance for the future of psychoanalysis of having an early impact on the attitude and values of medical students with regard to psychoanalytic concepts and treatment and the vital contribution of psychoanalytic attitudes and concepts in helping physicians in all specialties in their work with patients. The committee’s objectives include: increasing the coverage of psychoanalytic concepts in medical school curricula; increasing the availability of personal psychodynamic psychotherapy for medical students; promoting an awareness of psychoanalysis among medical students; deepening the possibilities for psychoanalytically informed experiences for medical students; supporting medical students and medical student educators with an interest in psychoanalysis; and making available resources with regard to psychoanalytic concepts and treatment for medical students and medical student educators.
