Fellowship 0137

Committee Type: Academic and Professional Affairs Department

Description: The mission of this group is to encourage and mentor the best and brightest early-career mental health professionals, academics, and others in creative and allied disciplines who demonstrate a serious interest in psychoanalysis and hold promise as future educators and leaders to bridge psychoanalysis with their respective fields. Twelve individuals are selected each year as Fellows and attend the APsaA’s biannual national meetings. Fellows participate in APsaA meetings by developing their ties with one another as a unique cohort within the organization, by attending various discussion groups, and by presenting in special seminars designed explicitly for trainees. Many fellows have gone on to make tremendous contributions to their local psychoanalytic societies, academic institutions, psychoanalytic research, and mentorship of the next generation of psychoanalytic practitioners and scholars. Information about the Fellowship Program is available in the fall of each year, and applications are due in early February. Application forms and information about criteria are available at http://www.apsa.org/apsaa-fellowship.
