Committee Type: Membership Services and Programs Department
Description: The Program Committee's primary task is to select the scientific activities for the Association's semi-annual national meetings. Submission of original papers, panel proposals, and other suggestions for the scientific program are widely solicited; submissions are discussed at length by the Committee and selections are made by vote; care is taken to ensure that the Committee's membership represents the Association's geographic and theoretical diversity. By these means, every effort is made to ensure that the scientific programs address the interests and concerns of the membership at large. The Program Committee also carries out liaison functions with the Canadian Psychoanalytic Association and other North American IPA member groups, as well as with the American's Continuing Education Committee.
