2023 National Meeting First Time Attendees
Is This Your First Time?
The American Psychoanalytic Association is pleased to welcome you to your first APsA meeting. We hope it will be the first of many to come. By choosing to attend an APsA meeting you are making a significant investment in expanding and developing your professional knowledge and skills. And you are going to meet a terrific group of people as well.
Attending APsA’s Annual Meeting for the first time can feel overwhelming but we’ve got you covered:
Before the meeting:
• Schedule an appointment with a program committee member who will review the program with you and offer suggestions regarding what sessions might be most beneficial and enjoyable to you based on your interests. To arrange this, email [email protected] with a brief bio detailing your professional background and interests. Then a program committee member will reach out to you via phone or email.
At the meeting:
• Join us for the First Time Attendee Cocktail Gathering on Tuesday, January 31 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for a cocktail and hors d’oeurves. This is a great opportunity to meet APsA staff, Executive Committee members (you’ll be seeing us around the whole week) and other first time attendees. Make sure to register for the First Time Attendee Cocktail Gathering when you register for the meeting.
• Grab a First Time Attendee ribbon to wear on your badge if you want. It’s a great conversation starter. Of course, you can choose to go incognito.
Contact Carolyn Gatto, Scientific Program and Meetings Director to ask any questions you might have.
